Introducing Milly the bulldog!
Milly was initially seen by Dr Verity because she had unbearably itchy, thickened and smelly skin all over her abdomen and the top of her legs. She was a very miserable and uncomfortable girl. Following samples being taken she was diagnosed with a malassezia (yeast) infection. She was given a course of anti-fungal tablets and an anti-fungal wash that initially needed to be used several times a week. Due to the amazing diligence of Tayla, her owner, at bathing and medicating her for weeks and months, Milly’s skin improved out of sight! When she was recently seen for another reason, Dr Verity was astonished at how fantastic she looked.
Unfortunately, neither Dr Verity or Milly’s owners had thought to take some ‘before’ photos of Milly’s abdomen to be able to compare the difference. If you had to describe it, it had looked thickened, grey and leathery. Attached is a photo of a dog that had similar looking skin to how Milly’s looked originally to give you an idea of the difference in her today. The final photo is of Milly herself showing you the remarkable difference. The pink skin is even becoming visible on her abdomen again! Milly’s owners have done an absolutely incredible job and she is such a happy bulldog nowadays!
